Drumer – Mr Janith Perera

Janith has been playing drums for the last 10 years and he has achieved immense acclaim during this short phase.  He is regarded as one of the best known upcoming studio and session drummers.  Janith has achieved a high performance of Grade 8 in Drums while at school and went on to gain a reputable Diploma in Commercial Music Performance from the Tech Music School (formerly Drum Tech).  After graduating from university Janith concentrated solely on session work and running private lessons for numerous students. Janith was privileged to become one of the disciples of Tom Meadows (Duffy, Girls Aloud), Jason Bowld (Pitchshifter) and Aaron ‘Breakbeat’ Fagan (N-Dubz, Kanye West John Legend).  Janith is a versatile music genius; in addition to his exceptional talent in playing Drums he has mastered in several types of percussion instruments such as Congas, Timbales and Cajon.

As a busy touring session musician, Janith has performed well over 700 shows in the last 6 years. He has also been featured on multi platinum and gold selling albums and singles.

As part of a recent session and tour work, Janith has had the privilege to work with top artists such as Jamie Cullum, Olly Murs, Eliza Doolittle, Newton Faulkner, Tinchy Stryder, Ironik and The Scarletz just to name a few. As well as having a flourishing music career, Janith is currently at Law School training to be a barrister.
