Sangeetha of the UK was formed in 1991 with the primary objective of developing an affluent, cohesive and caring community. Ever since its' inception, Sangeetha of the UK has undertaken numerous activities to promote arts and culture and to ameliorate the living standards of many people.

Sangeetha of the UK has honoured two great artists of India namely Bharat Gopy and Padmasree Sukumari by bestowing them with Ahbinava Puraskaram – an award given as recognition of their contribution to arts and culture. Sangeetha is now also an official patron of a charitable organisation called Focus Forth. This organisation based in Trivandrum, helps mentally retarded and debilitated children to integrate into the mainstream of social life.
